Coaching For Small Things
People often think of coaching as being about Big Goals – launching a new business, changing your life or career, making more money – but actually coaching can also be about the small every day life stuff. It can be about discussing a situation with someone who is outside of that situation, in a mental space that’s just for you, and thinking around different ways to act going forwards. It can be about very small things which can have a larger positive impact. Maybe you have noticed that you aren’t reading books like you used to. You used to enjoy it a lot but life got busy and now you don’t feel the motivation of energy to read, but you’d like to. This could be something we could discuss in a coaching session – just a simple conversation, but with some time and headspace to ask the questions – what has changed since you used to read more? When and what did you used to read? When and what would you like to read now? What might help? Can we set an intention? Set some inviting cues to help initiate reading? Name the things which distract and disturb you from it? Help to start a new habit?
This is just one small example, but there are so many small things in a busy life which a coach can help to change and improve, and small changes add up to bigger ones and improved wellbeing and self-worth.
